Title: Hot for the Handyman
Series: The Single Moms of Seattle
Author: Whitley Cox
Genre: Steamy, Contemporary Romance, Single Mom, Rom-Com
Release Date: December 5, 2020
He’s got just the right tool to fix her broken heart …

Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to The Single Moms of Seattle. Three sexy single ladies who drink a ton of wine every Saturday night, bitch about life, have each other’s backs, are the ultimate mama bears, and hope to one day, just maybe find love again.
This is Bianca’s story …
Bianca’s life is insane.
A single mom to three kids, she moved back to her hometown of Seattle after her husband cheated and knocked up his secretary.
She’s just trying to get to the next day without pulling out her hair.
With a full-time job as a project manager overseeing the renovations on affordable housing, she’s doing her best to put food on the table for her kids while also proving to the world that she can make it on her own—she doesn’t need a man.
She does however, need a handyman.
Cue, Jack.
He rides in on his Harley with his smoldering blue eyes, a beard and sleeves of tattoos to save her from an abusive contractor.
He’s also a handyman. A Jack of all trades.
Is Bianca’s luck finally changing?
But Jack has one condition before he takes the job to finish the renovations on the new four-plex—she cannot fall in love with him.
An easy task for sure, right?
She just needs him to get the units rentable, love isn’t even on her radar.
But Jack’s not just a flickering flame, he’s an inferno and Bianca is drawn to him like a moth—singed wings be damned.
What happens when summer is over, Jack’s job ends, and he rides off into the sunset? Will he take Bianca’s heart with him, or will he stay and save her one last time—from heartbreak?
**Note: This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, a sexy alpha male, and of course as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliffhanger or cheating. If you liked my single dad series, then you’ll love this spin-off trilogy.

There went those cheeks again.

The prettiest shade of fucking pink he ever did see.

On the prettiest—fuck—the most gorgeous woman he’d ever laid eyes on.

This Bianca—damn, he even loved her name—was the epitome of sensuality, sexuality and spunk, all rolled into light brown eyes, glossy brown hair and curves he wanted to sink his teeth into.

He’d been waiting for her to remember him as the man at the intersection who’d given her a thumbs-up when he caught her dancing in the car, but so far, she hadn’t made the connection.

Her day was rough. He bet she couldn’t remember what she had for breakfast, let alone a man who’d made her cheeks turn that sexy fucking pink as she let loose to Taylor Swift at the red light.

Sputtering, she blinked a bunch of times over those eyes he wanted to see gaze up at him as she fell to her knees and took him in her mouth. “Fall in love with you? You want me to promise not to fall in love with you?” She snorted before tossing her head back with a laugh. “Good one, Jack. I needed a laugh like that today. Thank you.”

“Just doing my job, darlin’,” he said with a big grin he knew was borderline cheesy. “Keeping the boss-lady happy. But seriously, I’m here to work and just for the summer. Try to keep it in your pants when you’re around me, okay? I got a job to do.” He followed up with an even bigger grin and a wink.

Her smile was natural and carefree, and it took her looks from a ten to a fucking twenty. “You always this cocky?”

“Not cocky, darlin’, just funny. Love to make people—women—laugh. Make ’em smile. Too much in this world has you frowning. The patriarchy, wage gap, pants without pockets.”

That got her laughing. “It is a plague we all face. Whoever thought pants without pockets was a good idea …”

“Was probably a man.”

“You’re probably right.” Sighing, she nodded. “I’ll do my best to keep it in my pants with pockets and not fall in love with you. You have my word. Besides, love, romance or anything in between is so far off my radar, it’s invisible to the naked eye.” That last bit was said with a twinge of regret in her tone and made him wonder what her deal was. Divorced? Widowed? In a loveless marriage with a limp-dicked moron?

I’m in love with Tracy’s Dog!

I’m super excited to announce my partnership with Tracy’s Dog.

But I mean it totally makes sense, right? All three of my Single Moms of Seattle LOVE their Dogs and you bet your butt that I wrote Tracy’s Dog into Mr. Gray Sweatpants, since the heroine in MGS is Casey from Hot for the Handyman. Bianca bought Casey her own Tracy’s Dog, but you’ll have to wait until September 2022 to find out what she named it.

I don’t partner with products that I don’t believe in. Products that I haven’t tried myself or haven’t recommended unassociated to countless people. And I’ve recommended Tracy’s Dog to loads of people. So it only makes sense that I partner with them, right?

All my characters use the OG sucking vibrator, but now that Tracy’s Dog has more products, you know I’m going to have to work those into my books, too!

In Hot for Teacher, single mom and widow Celeste, uses her Dog, cleverly named Henry Cavill as a means of keeping her sanity.

Single mom-to-be Lauren relies heavily on her Dog, Idris Elba since her baby daddy ghosted her before the baby was even born.

And finally single mom, Bianca doesn’t have time for anything but a quick fuck with her main Dog Jason Momoa. But when she finally finds a man who welcomes her wild, crazy world to become part of his own, what happens when he asks if he and Jason can tag team her?

You will absolutely NOT be disappointed with this toy.  The Single Moms of Seattle are not disappointed and neither am I. I can not stress this enough!!!

Ten vibration settings (first three are slow, medium and fast) then the other seven are different patterns, and ten suction settings (first three are slow, medium and fast) then the other seven are different patterns. I’m a big fan of settings three on both vibration and suction.

Whether you’re alone and just need to fall asleep or you’re thinking about spicing things up in the bedroom with your partner(s), I can guarantee you that Tracy’s Dog  will get you smelling the color purple, hearing the number nine and seeing the brightest starburst behind your eyelids that you’ve ever seen.

This thing takes you from zero to sixty before you can even count to sixty.

Will their shot at happily ever after be a homerun, or a foul ball? There’s only one way to find out…

Leo

I was living the good life.

Between my pro baseball career, full dating life, and supportive (if somewhat intrusive) family, I had everything I’d ever wanted. Love was not in my master plan.

Then I saw her.

I never believed in love at first sight, but Anjannette Peach made me reconsider. I know she’s The One.

Now I just have to convince her of that. Should be easy for a guy like me, right?

If only…

Anjannette

The last thing I need is a new man in my life.

My pole dance fitness studio keeps me way too busy to worry about romance, anyway. Hell, I don’t even miss sex anymore.

At least I didn’t. Until he showed up.

Leo Marakis is dangerously tempting. I’d love nothing more than to spend hours tangled in sweaty sheets with the sexy ballplayer.

So, what’s holding me back? That’d be my poor, scarred heart.

Not that it really matters. I mean, there’s no way he’s as sincere as he seems…right?

Excerpt

I stepped into the hallway and walked toward the stairs. I was rounding the landing when the unmistakable thump of Fat Bottomed Girls pounded out of the open door on the first floor. I jogged down the rest of the way and walked over to peek inside.

Holy shit!

I never believed in falling in love at first sight, but good Lord, I fell into something the moment I spotted her. With her long limbs, porcelain skin, and platform boots, she looked like some kind of goddess as she climbed the pole. When she reached the top, she released her left hand and extended her arm out to the side and held on by her right hand and her ankles as she spun around and around. With her body away from the pole, she gripped it with her right hand near her thigh then wrapped her right leg around the pole and continued to spin with her right arm extended.

My sister Angie used to have a musical jewelry box with a ballerina inside that would spin around when the top was opened. That’s exactly what the woman on the pole looked like.

I watched in awe as she straightened her legs and rolled around the pole then tipped back and hooked her left leg, seeming to hang on by the back of her knee. She arched and grabbed the heel of her right boot as she kept spinning around and around. I was getting dizzy just watching.

She let go of her boot and kicked her left leg back toward her head. And I don’t know how it happened, but next thing I knew, she was hanging upside down in a full split.

Hooking her left leg around the pole again, she wrapped one arm behind her and grabbed on. Twisting her body, she straightened her legs until she hung upside down with her back against the pole. She looked like a sexy bat.

Freddie Mercury continued to sing about how fat-bottomed girls make the world go round and I have to agree. Not that the enchantress in front of me has a fat anything, but her bottom is perfectly rounded, especially in comparison to her slim figure and tiny frame.

Releasing her hands, she let her arms hang toward the ground while just her knees held her to the pole. She slid down slowly until her fingertips brushed the floor as she continued to spin. Around and around she went until she finally placed her hands flat on the floor slowing the momentum. Once the spinning stopped, she let her legs fall back until her feet landed against the hardwood floor with a bang.

She stood, whipping her hair over her shoulders and gripped the pole again. Before executing another mind-boggling trick, her eyes widened when she spotted me.

Her sky-high heels added a sexy sway to her hips as she walked in my direction. My mind raced as I tried to think of something to say that would accurately convey how much her performance blew me away. But I didn’t have to worry about it because she didn’t give me a chance to speak.

“Show’s over,” she said, and slammed the door in my face.

The click of a bedroom door had them all pausing, including everyone on the threshold.

Brock watched the knob turn and the door open.

His heart was in his throat.

Making gimme fingers to his wife, he asked for the gun.

“I’m a better shot than you are,” she muttered, elbowing him out of the way.

Holding his breath and not blinking, he kept his gaze focused on where his mother’s bedroom door was and the whispers filtering out of it. It was two people. He knew that now.

“Mum?” he barked, making his wife in front of him jump, glance at him over her shoulder, and glare.

A head poked out from the doorway, and his mother’s brows furrowed.

Sighs echoed through all of them.

“What the hell are you doing with that, Krista? Put that away right now,” his mother ordered, stepping into the hallway, all four feet eleven inches of her.

“Sorry,” Krista murmured, stowing the gun in the holster clipped to her belt.

Their mother approached. “What is going on?”

“I’d like to ask you the same question,” Brock said, realizing he was still holding the damn tree on his shoulder. He leaned it up against the wall. “Why didn’t you answer us? Why is the house cold, dark, and quiet? Why are the curtains pulled? Whose truck is that?”

Color burned in his mother’s cheeks.

“Yes,” Krista said in what sounded like a hiss. Her smile grew mischievously wide.

Yes?

Brock took in his mother’s appearance for a moment.

She was wearing a pair of dark wash jeans and a long-sleeved button-up blouse of some light shade of pink. But the buttons were askew, not fastened properly. The shirt was also wrinkled. Her hair was disheveled, too.

Which was so unlike Joy Hart.

The woman was always put together.

For as long as Brock could remember, his mother had tucked her hair up into a no-nonsense bun on the back of her head and rarely was a hair ever out of place. But the bun on the top of her head now looked like it’d been tossed up in haste.

Her lips were also puffy.

And there was a red rash or something on her cheeks.

A throat cleared down the hallway, and Brock lifted his head.

He could hear his mother swallow as he watched a man about the same height and build as himself walk down the hall, buttoning his shirt.

“What the fuc—”

“Watch it,” his mother said.

“Holy crap,” Rayma murmured behind Brock. “Have him stripped, bathed, and brought directly to my tent.”

Jesus fucking Christ.

“He’s old enough to be your dad,” Heath scolded her.

“And I’m sure he could help me work through any daddy issues I may have,” Rayma retorted. “And for the record, all y’all burly Harty Boys are old enough to be my father. Hasn’t stopped the fantasies during the dry spells.”

“Rayma!” Pasha admonished, nearly dropping her son as she gaped at her twenty-something sister. “That’s my husband.”

Brock noticed Rayma’s indifferent shrug. “I know, and I’m respectful. It’s not like in my fantasies we’re cheating. You’ve been dead a respectable amount of time, and I’m there for Heath to help him raise the children on his own.”

“You kill me?” Pasha practically screamed.

“This just keeps getting better,” Lydia, Rex’s wife, said with a chuckle.

The man from the hallway with the dark, close-cropped hair, facial scruff, and light gray eyes came up suspiciously close behind Brock’s mother and rested his hand on her shoulder.

Brock’s body turned molten hot.

He heard his brothers grunt and suck in breaths beside and behind him.

Their mother glanced at the man behind her, smiled, and turned back to the rest of them. “Everyone, I’d like you to meet Grant.”

Excerpt

In between cleaning the bar, wiping tables and letting the waitstaff go as the place got quieter, Casey nibbled away on a turkey club sandwich. Even the way she ate and chewed was sexy.

Man, he either had it bad for this girl, or he just really needed to get laid.

Or both.

She was back in front of him, putting more dirty glasses through the glass cleaner.

He needed to find something to talk to her about. “Want to hear a funny story?”

She merely looked up at him beneath her lashes, and fuck if that didn’t make his dick even thicker. “Sure.”

“Since moving into my Nan’s place this cat has been coming by. He meows at my door. I started feeding him treats, but I know he has a home and owner. We’ve started communicating by fastening notes to Trevor—the cat’s—collar. Never met in person, but it’s actually kind of fun. Certainly, getting me through the long days of construction. We’re mostly just trading recipe tips at the moment.”

She still hadn’t looked up at him, but he watched her lips twist ruefully. “Recipe tips like pureeing caramelized onions and adding it to soup for more flavor depth?”

His fry paused mid-air and a blob of ketchup fell off it and landed back on his plate. “Yeah.”

“Trevor’s my cat. You’ve been corresponding with me.

Leo’s mouth hung open. “Seriously?”

She finally lifted her gaze, it glittered with amusement. “Yeah.”

“So it’s like we haven’t just met tonight. We’ve been getting to know each other for weeks, then?”

“Meaning?”

“Meaning asking you out doesn’t seem as forward as it could have been a second ago.”

“Would that have stopped you?”

“No.”

Her full lips twisted again. “I don’t have a lot of time to date. I work nearly seven days a week. College isn’t cheap. I’m lucky Simon and Jared let me live with them for free.”

“Sooo … then we keep it casual. When you get home from work at like what twelve-thirty, you text me and come over, or I come to you and we …”

“We what?”

He shrugged. “Hang out. Do whatever, until your eyes are too heavy and then you kick me out or I walk your groggy ass home. I’m flexible.”

“Do whatever?

He swirled his final onion ring in the ketchup and popped it into his mouth. “Do you want me to be blunt? Some women want to be wooed. I can do that. I can take shit slow, be respectful, and court a woman until she’s swooning. But I also know some women just want the D and I also respect that. Feminism and sex-positivity. No such thing as the word slut in my vocabulary. You’re no less valuable of a person if you put out on the first date.”

“That was a lot of words to just say, ‘let’s be fuck-buddy neighbors,’” she said teasingly.

“We don’t have to just be fuck-buddies. But I also asked if you wanted me to be blunt.”

“Not sure I have time for anything else.”

“But you’re not turning me down or telling me to get the fuck out of here, either.”

“No … I’m not.”

I’m probably going to say this about each audiobook when it comes out, but I’m honestly so in love with the way Gregory Salinas and Erin Bateman brought Adam and Violet to life. Gregory nailed the slight southern twang, and gave Adam the perfect blend of shy but quiet alpha qualities I was going for. And Erin truly brought everything I envisioned Violet to be completely to life.

I’ll also admit that since this is only book two in The Single Dads of Seattle and I wrote it back in early 2019, it was like revisiting old friends when I listened to the whole story. There were scenes I forgot about, hilarious one-liners I forgot I’d wrote. In a lot of ways it was like reading a brand new book (well, not brand new, but darn close). I’ve written a lot of books since writing Dancing with the Single Dads, and since I’ve written SO MANY single dads it can be tough to keep track of them. I caught myself laughing a lot. I’d even say under my breath, “I’m fucking hilarious.” The dog would then turn around to look at me like I was crazy. I’d tell him to keep moving and finally crap somewhere.

I also forgot about how deeply emotional this book was. Violet deals with the loss of Jean-Phillipe and her father, and Adam is dealing with the end of his marriage. It’s some heavy shit. And those sex scenes!!! Again, I forgot about a lot of this book, including that college professor office scene. I’m sure my cheeks were bright red if anybody passed me while I was walking. Hopefully they just assumed I was flushed from exercise and the warm weather, and not the dirty words I’d written.

Here’s a sample!

I loved Gregory as Adam so much that I’ve decided to cast him again. I’m confident that he will do an awesome job as Aaron Steele in Living with the Single Dad, Book 4 of The Single Dads of Seattle. I’ve also decided to cast Zachary Johnson (Mark from Hired by the Single Dad) as Zak for Christmas with the Single Dad, Book 5 of the The Single Dads of Seattle.

I can’t wait to hear what you guys think about the newest audiobook. I hope you love the narrators as much as I do.

The narrators for Saved by the Single Dad are hard at work bringing Paige and Mitch to life, so hopefully that audiobook can go live this fall.

Dancing with the Single Dad Blurb:

Hanging up your dancing shoes isn’t so easy when you can’t let go of your former dance partner.

Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to the Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy, single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other’s backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again.

This is Adam’s story….

Single dad of Seattle Adam Eastwood knows that dance school is just the thing for his precocious daughter, Mira. She already spends most days twirling around the house in a tutu and tiara, why not pay a professional to teach her how to do it properly? Only Adam didn’t account for that professional to be the Violet Benson from a very famous New York ballet company. Not only is Violet a natural beauty who floats more than she dances, but she’s the kind of woman Adam’s been searching for all his life.

Grieving the loss of her dance partner and boyfriend, Violet is done with performing on stage. How can she go on when the love of her life is no longer there to catch her? Deciding a change is best, she moves back home to Seattle, determined to fulfill their dream of opening up a dance school. It’s not until she’s asked to dance for Art in the Park that she realizes maybe she’s not quite ready to hang up her dance shoes. Would it be wrong to take the stage one last time? It must be wrong to feel what she feels when she’s dancing with Mira’s handsome father.

Adam’s wounds are still fresh from his divorce, and Violet’s dealing with a loss of her own, but somehow they keep winding up in each other’s arms with neither of them willing to let go. But it’s never easy to conquer the past. Will Violet let fear and grief keep her from her dreams? Or will Adam convince her that the show must go on and dancing with the single dad might just be the way for her to find her happily ever after?

Note: This book can be listened to as a stand-alone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and, of course, as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliff-hanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.
